The first part of the celebration begins without the need to travel to a Disney theme park at all. Instead, Disney-owned ABC Television Network will be airing a special dedicated entirely to Mickey, featuring guest appearances by celebrities and icons across Hollywood. Featuring Josh Gad, Tori Kelly, Miles Brown, and Disney’s own CEO Bob Iger, this celebration is bound to be an exciting way to kick off the year’s festivities dedicated to the leader of the club made for you and me.
Visit ‘Mickey: The True Original Exhibition’ in New York City (November-February)
In honor of Mickey’s ninetieth birthday, Disney is doing something, unlike anything they’ve done before with the opening of Mickey: The True Original Exhibition in New York City. The True Original Exhibition is a pop-up art exhibit that pays tribute to the cultural legacy of Mickey Mouse, through the artistic renditions of featured artists from around the world. On November 18th, Disney Parks and Resorts around the world will celebrate Mickey Mouse with exclusive commemorative merchandise, photo opportunities, and more. Later in the year, the World’s Biggest Mouse Party will begin around the world and continue into 2019.
D23 Celebrates Mickey Mouse with New Events, Publications
The official Disney fan club, Disney Twenty-Three (D23) will celebrate Mickey Mouse through special events and a special edition of the D23 Magazine. On November 16-18 at Walt Disney World, D23 will present Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Elsewhere, D23 will release a special edition of the D23 Magazine dedicated to Mickey, as well as Disney Publishing, who will release special commemorative publications celebrating Mickey’s big anniversary.
