As another exciting year comes to a close, we can’t help but look ahead in what is sure to be an amazing year at the Disney Parks. From the amazing immersive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, or an all new Ant-Man and the Wasp attraction in Hong Kong, this upcoming year is full of exciting new offerings, and to help get you excited for this year, we’re taking a look at everything there is to be excited for at the parks this year.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
At both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, two amazing experiences are opening in the parks, immersing guests deep within the world of Star Wars, in what is likely to be Disney’s greatest theme park accomplishment yet. Following the bar set with Pandora-The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we can’t wait to see what experiences will be in store in Galaxy’s Edge.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Also opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, opening in the former home of The Great Movie Ride. While the former attraction is still one very missed and beloved, the new ride technology teamed for Mickey’s new ride looks impressive and we can’t wait to see how the experience will be.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle! opens in Hong Kong Disneyland
Taking the home of the former Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at Hong Kong Disneyland, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle will open this year, continuing the Marvel theme park universe expanding across the world. This will be Hong Kong’s second Marvel-themed attraction, following the opening of the Iron Man Experience just a few years prior.

Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration
Continuing in the long-tradition of Disney never letting the fun end, Mickey’s birthday celebration will continue well into 2019, with the two recjving ther own special celebration in the parks. Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, featuring a new version of the Move It Shake It parade begins January 19th.

‘Soaring: Fantastic Flight’ Will Open at Tokyo DisneySea
At Tokyo DisneySea, the park’s unique version of Soarin’ will open in the summer, taking on an entirely original attraction, featuring new show scenes as guests soar around the world. Little is currently known about what the show will include, but with the impressive bar set by Soarin’ Around the World or even Flight of Passage, we’re fascinated to see what new experiences are in store.

Pixar Pier is Completed
When Pixar Pier, the overlay of the pre-existing Paradise Pier, opened this year at Disney’s California Adventure, it still wasn’t opened in its entirety. The final two elements of this new area, Jessie’s Critter Carousel and the Inside Out Wheel of Emotion, will open in 2019.

Epcot Forever Replaces Illuminations: Reflections of Earth
When Illuminations: Reflections of Earth finishes its impressive run at Epcot, it will be followed by Epcot Forever, a temporary show celebrating the legacy and history of Epcot. The show will run until 2020, when the new, permanent nighttime spectacular replacing Illuminations will debut.

New Entertainment Offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Later this year, a new nighttime spectacular, Wonderful World of Disney Animation will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in honor of Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ 30th anniversary. This show will celebrate the legacy of animation at Disney through its most iconic films through the ages. Elsewhere in the park, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will open sometime in the spring, somewhere near Rock N’ Roller Coaster.
