Disney is Now Working on a Live-Action Adaption of Winnie the Pooh

on

Full disclosure: This is not a late April Fools joke. This is a legitimate news report.

Just yesterday we played a silly April Fools prank stating that Disney was working on a live-action adaption of A Goofy Movie, essentially to poke fun at Disney’s ridiculous amount of Disney live-action remakes.  Upcoming  remakes include Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Pete’s Dragon, Dumbo  just to name a few. But today the adaptions have gotten as ridiculous as our joking April Fools joke yesterday. Disney is now planning a live-action adaption of Winnie the Pooh.

As revealed this morning by Deadline Hollywood  and confirmed by the writer Alex Ross Perry in a tweet (view through this link). Disney is in fact picking up a Winnie the Pooh live-action adaption. The focus will be Christopher Robin as an adult, which brings him back to A.A. Milne’s famous bear and the Hundred Acre Wood. This is not a joke.

Well, there you have it. There’s definitely no clear point in which this live-action craze for Disney is going to end, and if it ever will before they run out of movies to remake. For now as avid fans, we just have to sit back and wait a few years until it all blows over. While I’m happy to see Disney caring enough about the Pooh franchise, why not produce another animated film, which they did spectacularly in 2011? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on this remake.

Are you excited for this? Please share your thoughts below!

I’d like to see them do a live action Hunchback of Notre Dame using the story/songs from the stage version that’s in tests right now.
